Frank Thomas Thinks the Mets Should be Proud, Despite Being Terrible

We still love you, Big Hurt!

The Royals beat the Mets on Sunday night to win the World Series in five games. After the game, Frank Thomas had some words of encouragement (???) for the New York squad. The Mets were undone by poor defense and untimely hitting while the Royals only seemed to hit in the most crucial of spots and did crazy shit like score from third on a ground ball to third base.

Immediately after the game, FOX panelists were tasked with figuring out how to process this series. This is what The Big Hurt came up with: "The Mets have nothing to hold their heads down for, EXCEPT: they didn't play that well, and they gave away this World Series." Well, if that's all!

It's tough talking on live television—especially when you have to sum up a crazy series like this one in a matter of seconds—but it might be even tougher to hear how you should be proud of your performance, except for the ways in which you so fundamentally screwed it up.
