Steelers WR Martavis Bryant Absolutely Trucks Broncos DC Wade Phillips While Running Out of Bounds

The 68-years-old seemed to handle it well.

Broncos defensive coordinator Wade Philips is a 68-year-old man, and his bones are no longer made of rubber. Whatever they are made of, however, was put to the test as Steelers wide receiver Martavis Bryant's momentum carried him fairly deep out of bounds, and absolutely clocked the senior citizen into another dimension.

The questionable part of the whole thing is whether or not Byrant threw some extra arms in there toward the end. I know it's a rough game, and "that's just the way it goes" blah blah blah. But maybe it didn't have to happen that way. There are some nice moments of support in there, as one Broncos staff member seems to futiley catch Phillips' arm as he's falling. Another one pushes Byrant out of the way, as if to say, "how dare you," while going to help Phillips up.

Either way, it doesn't look like Phillips—a man who has coached just about every team in one capacity or another in his 47-year NFL career—had much of an option of where to go. He looks resigned, crossing his arms as he falls back, accepting his fate of being freight trained. Like a trust fall without anyone there for you.
