Watch Jarryd Hayne's Last Minute Match-Winning Field Goal

"This is my house," yelled the proud C-Town housing commission man after striking the match-winner in his return to Campbelltown Sports Ground.

Last year, Jarryd Hayne

Jarryd Hayne stood frozen in time for a moment before unleashing the now immortal line: "THIS IS MY HOUSE." He'd just landed the match-winning field goal in the final 30 seconds of Saturday afternoon's blockbuster against the West Tigers; a game that had been billed as "Hayne's return to Campbelltown," in reference to his housing commission upbringing in the suburb. The C-Town houso lad did not disappoint, putting in a solid performance at his less preferred position of 5/8 before sinking a dagger into the Tiger's finals hopes with his last minute field goal. The former San Francisco 49ers running back naturally used the moment to unleash some cringeworthy American guff, immediately alienating about 98% of the rugby league fanbase.

The last minute field goal also sealed one of the most dramatic, controversial and closely fought contests this season. The Tigers had opened the scoring with the quickest try of the year via Fijian pocket-rocket Kevin Naiqama. What followed was a typically bruising tit-for-tat encounter in front of a packed house at Campbelltown Sports Ground.

While much of the focus was on Hayne's return to his hometown, it was another C-Town product who almost stole the show. Tiger's winger and local Campbelltown junior, David Nofoaluma scored a double, including this spectacular effort inside the last ten minutes to almost win the game. The try gave Tigers halfback Mitchell Moses a chance to claim victory with a side-line conversion, only to hit the upright and miss. He would squander what should have been a regulation penalty conversion for the win a few minutes later.

The Tigers were also left without main strike weapon, and hero of last week's Leichardt Oval classic, James Tedesco after a controversial high shot from Titans Prop, Ryan James. James struck Tedesco with a right forearm on the jaw as the Tigers fullback was receiving a high-ball. The impact broke his jaw and forced him from the field with 20 minutes remaining.

James will now miss one week through suspension while Tedesco has been ruled out for the rest of the season putting a serious dent in what was a mountain of momentum for the Tigers to make the top eight. It may also see a reshuffle of the Tigers lineup that forces Coach Taylor to bring back axed legend Robbie Farah, who he famously dropped three weeks ago in one of the great coach vs player scandals of 2016.
