Thanksgiving High School Game Ends In Bonkers Comeback After Losing Team's Fans Stormed the Field

No one saw it coming. Grandma rescinded the biscuits and turkey.

History is written by the victors. Everyone knows that. But let's take an opportunity to step into losing team Lynn English High School's shoes for a second.

Yesterday, on Thanksgiving, the team—from the suburbs north of Boston—came into their 103rd game against rivals Lynn Classical with a bit of a chip on their shoulder. After a long back and forth, with 14 seconds on Classical's 20 yard line and down three points, the English QB launched a beautiful pass into traffic, and hit his receiver on the numbers in the end zone. Add in the two-point conversion (for some reason) and it's 20-15 with 8 seconds on the clock. Understandably, English fans were hype. Hype enough to storm the field.

A great victory, right? You, young victorious English player, can peel off your pads like sweat-slicked velcro, shower up, and it's turkey and biscuits with grandma. Delights. But eight seconds still meant eight seconds, and it certainly wasn't over yet for English.

After English botched their first kickoff with an offsides, their second attempt ended in the dastardly hands of a Classical's Marcus Rivera, who streaked up the sideline after slapping down a player for a miraculous 75-yard touchdown with zero seconds on the clock to break English's hearts. No one saw it coming. Everyone was devastated. Grandma rescinded the biscuits and turkey.
