Blackhawks Take Lead, Lightning Tie it Back Up 13 Seconds Later

The Chicago Blackhawks and the Tampa Bay Lightning are playing a tight Game 3 of the Stanley Cup Final. How tight? They score goals 13 seconds apart.

They were two vastly different styles, but the Blackhawks and Lightning swapped goals in a 13-second span in the third period of Game 3 of the Stanley Cup Final. With the score tied at 1-1, Chicago was pressuring Tampa Bay with a sustained effort, winning battles along the boards and chasing down loose pucks until the ice finally opened up with some quick passing. The puck eventually found its way to Brandon Saad, who snapped a one-timer over Ben Bishop's glove hand.

13 seconds later, of the subsequent face off, Tampa crashed Corey Crawford's net and Ondrej Palat bludgeoned the puck through him to tie it up at 2-2. Chicago almost gave the lead up on a breakaway, but a backchecking Trevor van Riemsdyk made a great play to stop it, so we remain tied with under 10 minutes to play.
