With 35 seconds left in the game, Nebraska found itself tied 24-24 with McNeese State, an FCS team. While technically not losing, playing to a tie score in the final seconds of game against an FCS team is not great. To put it into context: earlier today, Clemson beat another FCS team 73-7. Luckily for Nebraska, Ameer Abdullah turned a small gain into a 58-yard touchdown with a slashing and powerful run.On third-and-six, Tommy Armstrong, Jr. dropped back and found Abdullah for what looked to be a three-yard gain, well short of the first down. Instead, Abdullah ran over most of McNeese State's defense for the game-winning score with the crucial play being that spin move. he was surrounded by would-be tacklers but Abdullah lowered his shoulder, leveled the defender nearest him, and spun away. He made a few more guys miss and then he was off to the end zone. Now, thanks to him, no one will ever remember that McNeese State took it right to Nebraska in week two.
