England's last year of rugby dominance has seen then give the black eye to plenty of their critics, but national coach Eddie Jones sporting one to a Six Nations tournament launch was something new, this morning.

Jones, the outspoken former coach of Australia, Japan, the Brumbies and Reds, rocked up to the Six Nations launch in London with significant bruising around his left eye, a cut near his temple and a big bandage covering most of the damage.

The 56-year-old Tasmanian initially put down the injury to MM training, before revealing the true nature of it: a slip up in the bathroom.

"The eye isn't bad - first we had Judo, then MMA [Mixed Martial arts]. We were just seeing what effect they have on the body," Jones told media, before telling the real story.

"I slipped over in the hotel this morning. My Mother told me I always have to shave, I forgot to shave, I walked out of the shower to get the shaver and this is what happens. I'll be alright. I'll be at training on Thursday and ready to go."

Since taking over England after their sloppy performance at the 2015 Rugby World Cup, Jones has guided the North Hemisphere giants to a 14-match unbeaten streak, a first Six Nations Grand Slam victory since 2003 - and a test series clean sweep against Australia.

Recently, England has been in a training camp in Portugal preparing for this year's Six Nations.
