'Birdman was Garbage': Chris 'Mad Dog' Russo has Some Thoughts on the Oscars

Chris "Mad Dog" Russo has some thoughts on the garbage Oscars and that garbage film "Birdman."

That serene looking man up there is Chris Russo, once the rabid dog of Mike and the Mad Dog, the OG sports radio show. He is now on Sirius XM doing the same schtick as his FM days: Loud Sports Takes. But, if you ever listened to Mike and the Mad Dog back before their ugly divorce, you know that Russo and Mike Francesa enjoyed talking film every now and then. They'd weigh in on the Oscars or just talk movies on a slow Tuesday in February, which is every Tuesday in February. Anyway, Russo is still talking film and sweet Jesus is he fired up about the Oscars. Basically the entire show was trash except for Lady GaGa and silver screen legend Ms. Julie Andrews. Andy Gary Cooper would be ashamed of everyone had he not died 50-some-odd years ago.

Birdman was a piece of garbage. I don't know how that won best film. What a piece of garbage.

Why do we suddenly need 8 nominees? For 80 years 5 nominees was fine, now we need 8? There aren't 8 great films a year.

"P.S. I am not a crackpot."

You have to wonder if Eastwood, who is right wing, about an assassin in Iraq turned off a lot of Hollywood liberals who voted elsewhere.

Lady Gaga with Julie Andrews stole the show. No argument. I was shocked. What a tremendous job.

I'm not going to hammer Neil Patrick Harris, it was his first time, wasn't horrible, but he wasn't funny. Its a hard job, but he didn't work

Dollars to donuts Russo is a Billy Crystal guy.

I don't know how anyone thought Neil Patrick Harris hit a HR. The bag gag was terrible. Going back to the lady in the audience 3000 times?

Let me enjoy the Oscars. Go up, say your thanks, a little life story nugget and get off the stage. I don't need political stances.

"I will not sit here and listen to people give their opinions!"

And Jack Black, shut up. What would Gary Cooper think? My God.

A question we should all ask ourselves before doing anything, really.

Me: [Playing chess, reaches for knight]

Gary Cooper: [Is not dead, eyebrows arch]

Me: [retracts hand]
