There were some protests and counter-protests and supporters groups outside the Congress this morning. Salman got a lot of attention. The AP is reporting a number of security forces on the streets of Bahrain today, noting that "Sheikh Salman repeatedly has denied having any role in Bahraini soccer players being identified and arrested during the 2011 crackdown by the government led by his family, the island's Sunni rulers."

'Stop supporting Salman!' And 'Down, down, Salman' among the more printable chants.

This morning, FIFA also detailed its many reforms to the Congress, which later passed them 179-22. They produced this slick little video to show what exactly is being reformed. It's will take a while for us to see any results, but it's hard not to see all of this as a good thing.

HA!

Not a joke. FIFA congress opens with test question, asking members if 2018 World Cup taking place in Russia. Only 95% say YES!
