The Clippers and Mavericks are Racing to Sign DeAndre Jordan

DeAndre Jordan was supposed to sign with the Mavericks. But now he may re-sign with the Clippers. Or will he?

Last Friday, DeAndre Jordan was all set to join the Dallas Mavericks on a four-year, $80 million max deal after a less-than-stellar pitch from his former (???) team, the L.A. Clippers. It also came out that Jordan was not happy with his relationship with Chris Paul, who can be…prickly, let's call it. Specifically, Jordan was reportedly sick of "Paul's constant barking and petty gestures, like distributing high-fives to the three other guys on the floor following a timeout but somehow freezing out Jordan."

Yesterday, his former (???) teammate J.J. Redick graded the Clippers off-season at F-minus, which is not good. And now today, there are reports that DeAndre is having second thoughts about the move and is open to a return to L.A. These reports have in turn set in motion a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad dash between the two teams, with Doc Rivers and Mark Cuban racing to meet DeAndre Jordan hoping to sway his decision.

Doc Rivers has arrived in Houston and plans to meet with DeAndre Jordan before he can sign with Dallas, league sources told Yahoo Sports.

It's like The French Connection but with basketball.

Sources: Clips responded to Jordan expressing doubt on decision. Griffin, Redick may be in Houston w/ Doc today. Dallas fortifying response.

The Clippers are now "hopeful" that DeAndre will return, I'm told.

Things are looking good for the Clippers, but…what's that, up in the sky? Is that Chandler Parsons?
