After only 10 minutes of Barcelona's game against Las Palmas, Messi is taken out with a knee injury. Then, about a half-match later, Messi emerges from the hospital with a deep limp. Doctors are estimating that it'll be 7-8 weeks of time off the pitch for the Barça star, who reportedly suffers an MCL tear in his knee. Now, allow for the world to react like it needs to throw a funeral for Messi's knee. You're invited.

The perennial Ballon d'Or contender will surely be missed, but indeed, the man is human. Despite his mind-blowing disregard for defenders, or physics, he does indeed exist on the physical plane.

Worst possible news for Barcelona: Messi off. Knee injury. Seemed to twist it on contact with challenge as he was shooting.

Meanwhile, healthy-knee'd Munir and Sandro Ramirez are champing at the bit to take his place. I mean, life sucks with only Suárez and Neymar at your disposal.
