Bat Gets Loose in San Antonio Arena, Spurs Mascot Catches Him

Da-na-na-na-na-na-na-na BatMascot!

This isn't quite as impressive as Manu Ginobili's mid-game swat from a few years ago, but the Spurs Coyote caught himself a bat last night before the game against the Timberwolves. Bats are a bit of an attraction in San Antonio—Bracken Bat Cave is some 25 miles away from the AT&T Center, closer as the bat flies—so the Spurs have had some run-ins with the flying Rorschach tests.

Manu was probably in the locker room getting ready for the game, so the task of corralling the little guy fell to the Spurs Coyote mascot. Luckily he also had a Coyote-compatible Batman costume to throw over his mascot gear, so he was able to look good while doing it. With the help of a net, the Coyote was able to trap the bat and get it out of the arena in a little over a minute.
