West Ham scored twice in the first ten minutes of the game against Liverpool on a set piece in the second minute, and a floating tear drop in the seventh. The first goal, which is above, featured two headers and a final deflection off Liverpool's Dejan Lovren into the back of the net.The second score looked to be a cross to Enner Valencia for a header, but Diafra Sakho put it directly on goal and hit the corner without any help from the charging Valencia.

Liverpool then cut into the lead with a screamer of a goal from Raheem Sterling in the 26th minute. Controlling the ball in front of the net, Mario Balotelli rifled a shot into a West Ham defender and the ball ricocheted right to Sterling. He then fired a laser that Balotelli had to jump out of the way to avoid.
