Wil Myers Robs Brett Gardner Of Extra-Base Hit With Leaping Grab At The Wall

Brett Gardner can't catch a break.

The Yankees offense has been hot garbage of late, so with the bases loaded and the count 3-0 in the sixth inning, why not cut Brett Gardner loose and see what he can do? He did about all you could do with a pitch and still came up short. It wasn't going to leave the park, but Wil Myers made a great, leaping catch at the wall to rob him of at least a bases-clearing triple, and with Gardner's speed he may have turned it into an inside-the-park grand slam if Myers misjudged the play. Thankfully, Myers did not misjudge it and we've got ourselves some eye candy.

If things weren't bad enough, he almost ate it on the way back to the dugout. He even did the whole stupid grass, tripping me routine and took a look around to see if anyone saw it. Poor guy can't catch a break.
