Washington Nationals Unhappy With Disturbing Jayson Werth Bobblehead

The Nationals made a weird Jayson Werth bobblehead and will not be giving it to fans now, because it's pretty gross to look at.

This is why bobbleheads should just be pudgy little cherubs holding bats at their sides. The only movement in a bobblehead, whether actual or implied, should be the head. It's in the name. You start messing around with hastily made porcelain tchotchkes, and try to make them look more life-like or based on real events, and you get this: Jayson Werth squatting in mid-air while looking kinda stoned with his mouth wide open. It's not great.

The bobblehead was supposed to commemorate Werth's walk-off home run in Game 4 of the 2012 NLDS against the Cardinals. Here's what that moment looked like:

They got the basics right: the squatting jump, the mess of hair, and, yes, the open mouth. But as a shitty doll devoid of the human emotion that made that moment memorable, with no facial expression other than a wide open mouth and eyes that would give Quint the willies, this is just a disgusting sex act waiting to happen.

Even though images of the bobblehead have been around since at least August 20th, the Nationals only announced last night that they were unhappy with this version and will be re-commissioning a Jayson Werth walk-off bobblehead. So, tomorrow, instead of walking home with a bobblehead that looks like Jayson Werth is being propelled upward by his own gas, fans will get a voucher redeemable for a (hopefully!) non-disturbing Werth bobblehead.
