Sergio Ramos Trials One-Boot Football, Real Madrid Suffer

You need two boots to play football. Two. Always remember this, Sergio.

Sergio Ramos' right foot was briefly bootless during Real Madrid's 4-2 win over Celta Vigo on Sunday. The Spanish international – whose seemingly loose-fitting footwear is provided by Nike – kept up a valiant effort to defend, rushing backwards with a faintly comic hobble.

His heroics were in vain, however, as Celta striker Nolito put the ball in the back of the net. A forlorn looking Ramos was then forced to replace the errant boot while hanging his head in embarrassment, perhaps pondering his €4.5m per year salary as he did so.

Fortunately Ramos' moment of bootlessness had no bearing on the full-time result as Real ran out comfortable winners. They remain two points shy of Barcelona in the La Liga title race, which is sure to present more exciting moments like this before reaching its conclusion.
