VICE Sports World News Roundup: September 22

FIFA's woes continue.

Good morning, America. Welcome to the VICE Sports World News Roundup. Be sure to stop by daily for your morning headlines.

It's the 22nd of September, 2015, and Sepp Blatter is still president of FIFA. Your regular rounder-upper, Brian Blickenstaff, is enjoying the hell out of his vacation in Portugal. I, Aaron Gordon, am doing the best I can in his absence.

American and Barcelona youth soccer player Ben Lederman's family is prepared to sue FIFA if he is still not allowed to play for the club. It's just another thing FIFA can add to its growing pile of worries, which now also includes the FIFPro legal action over transfer fees.

An Italian mayor has denied a group of refugees access to the city's football field. The town of Mortara in northern Italy has 15,000 people, and the Mayor claims it's unfair to have refugees, who don't pay for access to the field through taxes, to use it.

Sir Alex Ferguson demanded his wages be doubled in 2010 after Wayne Rooney's contract increase. "We just agreed no player should be paid more than me," Ferguson wrote in his new book. How convenient.

Brian usually does a photo of the day, but I'm not Brian, so here's your motivational Sepp Blatter quote of the day:

I am a mountain goat that keeps going and going and going, I cannot be stopped, I just keep going.

I think we can all learn a little something from Mountain Goat Blatter.
