VICE Sports World News Roundup: August 7

Start your day with VICE Sports. Here's our morning roundup of the sports news from around the world.

Good morning, America. Welcome to the VICE Sports World News Roundup. Be sure to stop by daily for your morning headlines.

It's the 7th of August, 2015, the sports world is in a deep, pre-soccer lull, and Sepp Blatter is still president of FIFA.

Earlier this week, Pep Guardiola shocked Bavaria when he said home-town hero Bastian Schweinsteiger wasn't fit after he had moved to Manchester United, which seemed in bad taste. But now United Manager Louis Van Gaal has said the same (Link in German). I guess Schweini is a little porker after all.

The Houston Texans' Arian Foster has told the world he doesn't believe in God. In the context of professional sports in the U.S., this is pretty amazing. ESPN takes a long look at the player and his beliefs.

The Ashes are still going on (because cricket!). The English are still in it, and the Aussies seem rattled.
