Refs Fist Bump After Touchdown Call

Two referees in the Broncos-Bills game fist bumped each other after calling a touchdown.

This is sort of endearing. After the Broncos scored late in the second quarter, The back judge ran from his position deep in the end zone and dropped down at the goal line to check to see if the ball had crossed the plane. Once he confirmed the touchdown, he turned to the line judge and gave him a thumbs up. The line judge entered the frame running, while flashing the touchdown sign. Once he got there, his colleague offered his fist, to either celebrate their excellent teamwork, or congratulate the line judge for his eagle eyes.

The play was reviewed and, though it was close, it was upheld with the important qualification that the play stood as called, as opposed to being confirmed by review. Our official friends got it right—as far as the box score is concerned, anyway—and they should enjoy their celebration. Refs, they're just like players! Although, they were lucky not to get flagged for a choreographed celebration between two teammates.
