Marcus Foligno Takes Time to Fix Hair During Fight with Shawn Thornton

Foligno has his priorities straight.

Style is everything, even when you're taking a steady stream of uppercuts to the face.

Clearly, Buffalo Sabres forward Marcus Foligno knows how important on-ice consistency is to finding a regular home in the NHL. The gritty winger also knows that displaying a quality head of hair every time the helmet comes off is equally as imperative—no matter the circumstance.

After his helmet was pried off during a spirited fight with Florida forward Shawn Thornton on Tuesday, Foligno released himself momentarily from the grasp of the Panthers enforcer and had a moment to reflect. After taking a second to gather his thoughts, he reached his hand to his head and adjusted his flow not once, not twice, but three times—cementing himself as a hair legend before re-engaging and exchanging several more face punches with Thornton.

Some things you just have to shake your head at as an older brother! Glad he got the take down! #'pretty'tough — Nick Foligno (@NickFoligno)December 21, 2016

A veteran of over 650 NHL games, Thornton has racked up over 1,000 penalty minutes in his career and has 14 years on the the 25-year-old Foligno. The scrap was pretty even, and ended with Thornton giving Foligno the ultimate sign of respect between combatants—the post-fight head tap.

After seeing how serious Foligno takes his hair, though, the head tap may not be the best way to pay him a compliment.
