Adam Lallana Sneaks Goal in With Rubber-Ankle Touch

Liverpool are going to Europa League Final thanks to a 3-0 win over Villareal.

I'm not even sure how this is possible but it happened, so it must be. Adam Lallana gave Liverpool a 3-0 lead and put them two points clear of Villareal in the second leg of their Europa League semifinal matchup at Anfield today with a sneaky little flick of a goal. Roberto Firmino made the run and took it all the way to the goal line before sending in a cross just in front of the penalty spot. The ball came to Daniel Sturridge, who he scuffed it, sending a little humpback shot that just happened to land right at Lallana's right foot.

The only problem was that Lallana was facing Sturridge, with his back to the goal. It turned out not to be quite such a problem, though, because he just slightly pivoted and flicked the ball backwards with the top of his foot. He was basically posting up the keeper so the ball was either going in, or going wide. It went in and gave Liverpool an 3-1 lead on aggregate with just ten minutes left to play. Liverpool held on to win to advance to the Europe League finals against Sevilla on May 18th.
