VICE Sports World News Roundup: August 6

Start your day with VICE Sports. Here's our morning roundup of the sports news from around the world.

Good morning, America. Welcome to the VICE Sports World News Roundup. Be sure to stop by daily for your morning headlines.

It's the 6th of August, 2015, and Sepp Blatter is still president of FIFA.

Aron Johannsson is officially a Bundesliga player. It's a step up for him and a big signing for the league in general, which will receive unprecedented attention in the USA this year, thanks to its new Fox broadcasting deal.

River Plate won the Copa Libertadores, beating Tigres 3-0 on aggregate. The win included the following.

In a much less important match, Barcelona beat Roma in a preseason tournament. Not only did Messi freak out, headbutt, and then choke an opponent, but Ivan Rakitic did this:

You tell me what's more violent: what Messi did or this? https://t.co/i2TeqrEUR0

Several records have been broken already at the International Swimming Federation World Championships. Here's one I missed: A 10-year-old named Alzain Tareq became the youngest athlete in competition history when she competed in the 50 meter freestyle event for Bahrain.

With Abou Diaby gone from Arsenal, Jack Wilshere is doing his best to fill the void left by the always-injured midfielder. Wilshire broke his leg in training and is set to miss the first 8 weeks of the season.

Sebastian Giovinco continues to dominate MLS like few players (maybe none) have ever dominated before. Here he is last night, mid hat trick.
