It was the eventual game-winning goal, upping Giovinco's total to a league-tying 22 on the season.More importantly, it helped TFC qualify for the postseason for the first time in franchise history. The team had gone eight consecutive seasons without a playoff berth since its inaugural year in 2007. It was the sport's longest active playoff drought.Giovinco has been a force in his first season with the Reds, producing one of the greatest seasons in MLS history and is a frontrunner for the league's MVP award. The 28-year-old recently became the first MLS player ever to record a 20-goal, 10-assist season.Between Giovinco's exploits and the Blue Jays being four wins away from a World Series appearance, it's been quite a time to be a Toronto sports fan—words that haven't been uttered in a long time. Both the TFC and Blue Jays ended the longest playoff droughts in their respective sports this season, while Giovinco and Toronto third baseman Josh Donaldson could both take home MVP awards.Toronto sports fans will remember Oct. 14, 2015 forever.
