Anthony Bennett Posterizes Italian Defender with Monster Dunk

The former No. 1 overall draft bust did something good for a change.

Former No. 1 overall pick Anthony Bennett is making headlines again. And this time, it's for the right reasons.

On Sunday, the Toronto, Ontario, native reminded everyone why he was once the No. 1 overall selection in the NBA draft. Playing for the Canadian national team in an exhibition game, Bennett received a pass from Tyler Ennis and exploded to the rim for a filthy poster dunk over Italy's Marco Cusin, plus the foul.

It's one of the only positives we've seen from Bennett for quite some time.

In 2013, Bennett became the first Canadian to go No. 1 overall (fellow Canadian Andrew Wiggins went No. 1 a year later), but he's currently regarded as one of the biggest busts in recent history after a disastrous start to his career. Ever since the Cavaliers made him the top pick, Bennett has struggled at the NBA level with Cleveland, Minnesota, and most recently Toronto, averaging just 4.2 points and 12.8 minutes per game for his career. He played sparingly for his hometown Raptors this past season, while also spending time in the D-League, before he was released by Toronto in late February. He's been out of an NBA job since.

The 23-year-old has committed himself to the Canadian national team, and hopes to help the squad qualify for the Olympics in Rio later this summer, a year after being a key piece on Canada's silver medal-winning team at the Pan American Games.

Although one highlight-reel dunk may not be enough to earn him another look by an NBA team, Bennett appears to be working hard to get another chance. Italy's Marco Cusin would certainly agree.
