Emmanuel Sanders Gets Leveled On Vicious Hit

Emmanuel Sanders was forced out of the game on a brutal hit from Rodney McLeod. It looked to be a legal hit in slow motion, but McLeod was penalized on the play.

Peyton Manning led Emmanuel Sanders a little too much and it set up an absolutely devastating hit from Rodney McLeod. Sanders had to lay out for Manning's pass and as he stretched out in mid-air for the ball, McLeod launched himself through Sanders with his shoulder.

Sanders remained on the ground for some time, but was eventually helped to his feet and to the locker room by trainers. McLeod received an unnecessary roughness penalty for making contact with the head of a defenseless receiver. Replay showed that it was a legal hit, but as Mike Carey noted on the broadcast, in real time it's very difficult to make that differentiation.

Sanders and Broncos tight end Julius Thomas are both out of the game with injuries.
