Mario Balotelli Can't Buy A Goal, United Win 3-0

Mario Balotelli had at least three quality chances in limited time against Manchester United and came up empty each time.

Mario Balotelli came on in the second half against Manchester United and immediately made his presence felt, insofar as he was on the pitch trying to score, anyway. Balotelli and Raheem Sterling had about six legitimate goal scoring chances each and Liverpool found themselves on the wrong side of a 3-0 final. David de Gea was excellent for United in goal but, man, you'd think one of these chances would squeak by.

Above, De Gea makes a great fingertip save on a point-blank chance from Balotelli that was created by Sterling, his partner in futility today. As if it mattered, de Gea even got some help from the woodwork. Moments later, de Gea bested Super Mario again, again from point-blank range.

Balotelli even tried a bicycle kick at one point because you might as well just get wild and see what happens. But as it turned out, nothing happened for Liverpool today at Old Trafford. Meanwhile, United scored effortlessly.
